What Do You Mean by “Individualized”?

Your child’s needs are unique, and so is your family, so a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all program won’t provide the best treatment to foster growth and development. Based on the proven yet flexible techniques of applied behavior analysis (ABA), treatment at TYAP is customized to your child’s personality, skills, needs, and goals.

Our treatments are employed in a step-by-step manner to increase language and social skills, strengthen academic skills, encourage independence, and foster creativity. Providing our students with skills that will lead them to a happy and successful adulthood is one of the central focuses of our work.

What Does Treatment Look Like at TYAP?

A treatment team, including the clinical director, case supervisor, and behavior therapists are assigned to work with each child daily at our autism treatment centers in Houston, TX and Katy, TX. What Is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?

ABA is a widely used and clinically accepted treatment approach to individuals with ASD, from early childhood through adulthood. ABA encourages positive behaviors and discourages negative behaviors, improving and developing your child’s skills for navigating daily life. There are a variety of therapeutic approaches within ABA, each specific to a certain age group and/or behavioral concern. Not all types of ABA are employed in our autism treatment center at TYAP, but we do recognize our treatment as using and incorporating ABA into a holistic treatment package.

What Is the Difference Between Part-Time and Full-Time Services at TYAP?

Some children will require more care and guidance than others, so the time a child spends at the TYAP Day Treatment Center is individualized as well. Depending on the results of psychological evaluations for diagnostic and treatment response monitoring, your treatment team will discuss with you what services will best benefit your child.

Services recommended may be full-time or part-time, depending on what routine will provide your child with optimal treatment. If your child is not able to physically attend our TYAP Day Treatment Center in Houston, we also provide a parent-directed program that guides parents in developing their own treatment team from local professionals.
